Truck Overturns in Toledo, Injuring Delivery Assistant

Police are investigating a road traffic incident that occurred on Saturday, July 12 at around 7:45 p.m. in Mafredi Village on the San Antonio Road at the junction of Blue Creek, Toledo District. Upon arrival, authorities observed a white cargo truck overturned on its side on the left-hand side of the road when traveling in an east-to-west direction. The driver, 24-year-old Marvin Toledano of Trial Farm Village, Orange Walk District, reported that he was en route to the Dump in Toledo after completing a delivery in San Antonio Village. He was accompanied by 18-year-old delivery assistant, Jomale Chan of San Narciso, Corozal. According to Toledano, after passing a pedestrian ramp, he lost control of the truck, causing it to collide with a high-tension lamp post and overturn on the passenger side. Chan sustained injuries including a laceration to the right side of his head and abrasions to his right leg. He was initially trapped in the vehicle but was assisted by bystanders and later transported to the hospital by police officers.
