Ts’Unu’Un Pok-ta-Pok Ball Court Opens in Yo Creek Village

The Ts’Unu’Un Pok-ta-Pok ball court was officially opened today in Yo Creek Village, Orange Walk District.  The Pok-ta-Pok is a sacred Maya ball game is played in teams of two or four and the aim is to shoot an eight-pound through a vertical hoop using only their hips. The construction of the court was paid for by the Belize Tourism Board (BTB), and is very timely as Belize prepares to welcome fourteen teams from the seven countries in December.  Shilka Munoz tells us more.
