Two Men Remanded on Firearms-Related Charges

Two Belize City men were arraigned today, jointly charged with firearms-related offenses.  Twenty-five-year-old, Elden Flowers and twenty-seven-year-old, Kareem Franklin were charged with one count of kept unlicensed firearm and one count of kept unlicensed ammunition. Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges but due to the nature of the offense, bail could not be granted in the first instance. They were remanded to the Belize Central Prison until October 30. Allegations are that the duo were found on Sunday, August 27 with a nine-millimeter pistol loaded with four live rounds of ammunition.
