Police are investigating a fatal hit and run incident which claimed the life of 22-year-old Carolyn Riverol. ACP Joseph Myvette told the media the incident occurred last Thursday.
Joseph Myvette – Head of National Crime Investigation Branch: “Police were called to an area between Mile 44 and 45 on the Philip Goldson Highway where upon arrival they saw the motionless body of a female later identified to be Caroline Riverol 22 years in the middle of the highway. Our investigation so far is that she probably was in the process of crossing the highway when she was knocked down by a truck which failed to stop. At this point we do not have any concrete leads as to where that vehicle may be and we are seeking the public’s assistance in this matter in order to try and resolve this issue.”
Another hit and run accident yesterday in Bella Vista village also proved fatal.
Joseph Myvette – Head of National Crime Investigation Branch: “Police officers from the intermediate Southern Formation were called to an area between miles 44 and 45 on the Southern highway where they observed the motionless body of male Hispanic person later identified to be Juan Coc 62 years Guatemalan farmer of Bella Vista Village on the right hand side of the road. This is an isolated area and so far we have no leads in relation to this accident so again we are seeking the public’s assistance in order to try and bring those concerned to justice in relation to this accident.”
Police investigations continue into these incidents.
