While Panton wrangles over whether legislating quotas to create spaces for women in political leadership, she was clearer on her position concerning the Lev Dermen saga involving John Saldivar. More than a year and a half ago, Saldivar was accused of lying to the then Prime Minister, Dean Barrow and was left out in the cold after the US Court in Utah provided evidence that Saldivar was receiving money from Dermen as campaign financing. Last week, Saldivar broke his silence on the matter saying that the Prime Minister was indeed aware of the situation. When asked about the situation today, Panton outlined her position on the matter.
