The United Democratic Party is gearing up to endorse Moses “Shyne” Barrow as its leader going into the next General Elections. This Sunday Barrow will be backed and endorsed by the party at its National Convention. The event will serve as an opportunity for the party to elect its executive body and prepare for the upcoming Municipal Elections. Today, allegedly corrupt former UDP Leader, John Saldivar, and several UDP foot soldiers went out to Belmopan to support Barrow. Saldivar says it was important for them to do so ahead of this weekend’s convention.
John Saldivar, UDP Belmopan Standard Bearer: “And we are here in support of our party leader because obviously one of the things in that amendment is to target our party leader, which we believe is despicable, it’s very partisan, and it’s almost criminal to try to eliminate your enemy by way of such a law which we contend will never stand in the light of day, that it’s unconstitutional if they try to push it through and will not stand in any court of law. But we are here to support our party leader. You know, on Sunday, we will be endorsing our party leader for the next few years leading up to the general election. And so we just wanted to be out here to support him. And I thank my colleagues who have traveled from different parts of the country to be here in solidarity with our party leader.”
