The next candidate under the umbrella for the United Democratic Party (UDP) is Dennis Desho Williams. He has been the appointed standard bearer for the red and white party and saw the presence of Earl Trapp, the Mayor of San Ignacio/Santa Elena; Beverly Williams, Alberto August, Ramon Figueroa and the party Chairman, Michael Peyrefitte. Williams is yet to have a history as an elected representative, but much hope has been placed in him by the UDP Party Leader, Moses Shyne Barrow.
Renee Trujillo, News Director: Denis “Desho” Williams has been coined by his party leader as as son of the soil as he was born and raised in the Toledo district. His role in politics spanned from being a ground commander in previous elections to the UDP Standard Bearer for the Toledo East division. In recent weeks he has enjoyed the full support and praises from his party leader Moses “Shyne” Barrow.

Moses “Shyne” Barrow, Leader of the Opposition: “Loyalty, there is no mistaking his commitment to Toledo East and the people in Toledo East know him. I was blown away by how he interacted with the people in the villages as much as the people in the town. He’s being doing his work over the last twenty years. But certainly as the standard bearer over the last couple years he has maintained strong relationships all throughout Toledo East and the institutional intelligence that he has as far as the needs and the wants of the people can only come from someone that is there, that never left. He worked for BEL, he worked for BTL, he started his own current tech company but never left Punta Gorda, Bella Vista and all the other villages so there’s no one more suited to represent the people of Toledo East.”
Renee Trujillo, News Director: Today on the ground in the Toledo East division while the showing of red shirts paled in comparison to the blue and white camp Williams maintained confidence in his machinery and the work he has put in for this by-election.

Dennis “Desho” Williams, UDP Toledo East Standard Bearer: “We have different division captains. We have wheelchairs available for the elderly and we are working in Hopeville, we have teams in Indianville, and the Mercy Rock box so all our teams are bringing out the people right now.”
Renee Trujillo, News Director: Many within the hierarchy of the UDP were in the south today lending support to Williams and doing whatever last minute campaign was possible. Among them was the party chairman Michael Peyrefitte.
Michael Peyrefitte, UDP Chairman: “I’ve been assigned to PG so we’re down here. It’s a lot more subdued, it’s a lot more quiet and from what I’m told that’s just the nature of PG and it’s more manageable. The vibe is good. The vibe is good, we have a good feeling about what we’re doing and let’s just hope that translates into some votes. And he result hopefully Desho will be victorious tonight when the votes are counted and that is our hope and expectation. That’s what we’re going for.”
Renee Trujillo, News Director: Just before midday today our team met up with Williams. It was a time when the voter turnout stood at 1,700 which he says was not so concerning.
Dennis “Desho” Williams, UDP Toledo East Standard Bearer: “Normally the trend in the morning time in PG the voters tend to pick it up in the afternoon, two, three, four to fix it ramps up so it’s kinda expected.”
