UNHCR Donates Medical Equipment to Rural Clinics

The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has donated medical and personal protective equipment to the Independence Poly Clinic, San Juan Health Post, the Bella Vista Poly Clinic and Community Health Workers in the Independence sub-region. These donations are part of the continued efforts to support the government in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in Belize. With the donation of PPEs, including two thousand eight hundred KN95 masks, four thousand surgical masks, two thousand four hundred fifty disposable gowns, five hundred face shields, six thousand six hundred pairs of gloves, three vital signs monitors, six pulse oximeters, and seven infrared thermometers. UNHCR also assisted the Bella Vista Poly Clinic with a lap-top for health information campaigns and the building of a waiting area, with the assistance of partner, HUMANA People to People.
