Union Lifts Strike Action Against CIBC First Caribbean Int’l Bank

Staff who are members of the Christian Workers Union at First Caribbean International Bank have decided to lift their strike against the financial institution. As you may recall, these employers picketed in front of the bank in an effort to display their frustration and discontent with the management of FCIB. The strike started about 14 days ago, after negotiations between both entities dwindled. Love News has confirmed that CWU and the bank’s management have resumed negotiations. However, we are told that neither party will speak to the media while the negotiating process is ongoing. The last report that we had received was that the employees were not happy with what the bank had proposed. FCIB has decided to sell out to Heritage bank and up to date there is no collective bargaining agreement between union members and FCIB.
