VIP’s Chairman also commented on the fact that the Belizean population is limited when it comes to being knowledgeable on a dispute resolution at the International Court of Justice. Chairman Hubert Enriquez commended the Belize National Teacher’s Union for coordinating the country wide consultations to help spread information on the territorial dispute being resolved at the ICJ.
VIP had accompanied BNTU on their consultations across the country. Enriquez noted that the consultations made them aware of the ignorance in Belize. He also mentioned what it would cost the Government if they were to go to the ICJ.
Enriquez added that they are prepared to assist in further education campaigns on the ICJ issue.
