Virginia Lopez in Critical Condition After Attempt to Capture Armadillo Ends in Highway Accident

A woman identified as Virginia Lopez is listed as critical but stable in the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after being knocked down.  Reports say that Lopez attempted to capture an armadillo from the highway when she was hit near the entrance of Hattieville in the Belize District.  It is a moment of recklessness and is currently being investigated as confirmed by the Police Commissioner.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “There was some armadillo that had been knocked down by a vehicle and the lady was going to pick up that armadillo without looking to see the oncoming traffic and she was hit by a vehicle.”

Reporter: So no charges for that as yet? 

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “At this time, no.”
