Gustavo Manuel Vasquez is no longer the Governor of the Central Bank. He was booted last Friday, after he was informed that he was terminated on instruction from the Ministry of Finance with immediate effect. In an email, he told the staff that the government wanted to buy out the remainder of his contract but up to Friday, he was still in consultation with GOB with no resolution. When Vasquez was appointed, he was touted to be respectable professional with the skills and knowledge to lead the charge into economic recovery. So what happened?
