The National Hydrological Service is tonight urging those living in flood-prone areas of Toledo District to remain on the alert, despite a shift in its forecast between yesterday and today. The advisory issued yesterday called for flash flooding on the Moho River at Blue Creek South and Jordan. At the same time, river levels of the Temash at Crique Sarco were rising to flood stage and increasing. Fast-forward to today where the unit reports increasing levels on both waterways. Principal Hydrologist, Tennielle Hendy explained the shift.
While the situation in Toledo calls for vigilance along the southernmost rivers and waterways, in the north it’s a different story where most rivers are normal or below normal but steady.
