Weekend Starts with Double Homicide in Western Belize

On Friday night, the disturbing news of a double homicide was reported in Teakettle Village that left two men dead.  It was a gruesome discovery made by the wife of one of the murder victims, as we hear in this report from Angelica Cruz.


“Based on a phone call received on Friday evening, May 15, sometime around 6:10pm Belmopan police visited Pineapple Hill in the village of Teakettle situated about 300 yards off the George Price Highway. Teakettle Double Homicide 2Upon arrival they observed the lifeless body of a dark skinned male person lying faced-down in a pool of blood with a large chop wound to the top of the head. He was identified as 46-year-old, Julian Christopher Jones, an American National who resided in Teakettle Village, Cayo District. Further checks were made to a room in the same building where the lifeless body of another male person was seen lying faced up in a pool of blood with two gunshot wounds to the left side of the head. He was identified as 61-year-old, Paul David Signorino, a retired American of Valley of Peace Road. Initial investigation revealed that 69-year-old, Laura Lambert, an American teacher of Teakettle Village arrived home from work sometime around 5:30pm on Friday evening and didn’t see her common-law-husband at home. She then decided to make checks inside a house that is under construction at the back of her property where she found him dead. Love News understands Lambert’s one bedroom house as well as the two vehicles in the yard was ransacked while Jones’ licensed pistol and his .22 rifle were missing. Other items stolen are yet to be ascertained. Police are asking the public for their assistance in putting the pieces together to help solve this murder.”
