Eight hundred and fifty acres of land at the East of Northern Lagoon – that’s the amount of land sold to ten companies; nine purportedly belonging to businessman, Sunjay Hotchandani, and two to a company belonging to Sean Duncan and David Morales, as well as six private individuals. The common factor here is that the 850 acres are all in the eastern part of the Northern Lagoon – in the vicinity of where Port of Magical is being constructed. There are many questionable moves made in these transactions including the transfer or some of the lands to Portico Enterprises, some weeks after they were acquired. Reporter Vejea Alvarez went looking for these fortunate land owners, but either the address they gave was deliberately wrong, or there must have been a typo at the Lands Department. Here is Vejea Alvarez with his findings.
As noted, we have sought comment from Sunjay Hotchandani but we were unsuccessful. Meanwhile Attorney David Morales did confirm that he did not directly acquire the said lands, but he is a director of the company that did. We will be following this story as it remains a live matter.
