Western Dairies employees involved in car accident

Two employees of Western Dairies, Spanish Lookout were involved in a late-night traffic incident yesterday as they made their way back to their workplace.  The incident occurred near the Blue Hole on the Hummingbird Highway and involved one of the company’s delivery trucks.

Two employees of Western Dairies, Spanish Lookout were involved in a late-night traffic incident yesterday as they made their way back to their workplace.  The incident occurred near the Blue Hole on the Hummingbird Highway and involved one of the company’s delivery trucks.  Love News spoke to the driver, Alex Hernandez who said that he lost control of the vehicle due to the loose chippings on the road.   The truck flipped multiple times.  Our Cayo Correspondent Fem Cruz found out more and filed this report.

Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: “Two workers from Western Dairies Spanish Lookout are recuperating from injuries they received following a traffic accident yesterday near Blue Hole on the Hummingbird Highway. Alex Hernandez the driver of the vehicle spoke to Love News.

Alex Hernandez, Driver: “I came just a little bit off the road and the chippings made the tire slip and from that I lost control I just remember it happened quickly and when I conscious I was in the bushes already. From Independent heading to Spanish Lookout. Not big injuries only small injuries, minor cuts.”

Fem Cruz, Cayo Correspondent: And how about Catalan ?

Alex Hernandez, Driver: “Yes he has a little bit of scrapes on his arm but nothing bad. He will stay tonight and tomorrow he may go home again.”

The driver, Alex Hernandez has since been treated and released from the Western Regional Hospital.  His passenger, Byron Catalan, remains hospitalized.  Catalan sustained injuries to his right shoulder, left foot and bruises to the head.
