The family of Belmopan resident, Densmore Bowman, is concerned about his safety after he was reported missing by his wife on Saturday. Bowman left his home on Friday afternoon around three o’clock to pick up money from a Western Union office. Relatives became concerned and made several attempts to reach him on his cellular phone, but those calls proved fruitless. Family members are hopeful that he will be found alive, but they are beginning to fear the worst. According to his mother, Mary Coleman, it is unusual for Bowman to disappear without informing the family of his whereabouts.
Mary Coleman ,Bowman’s Mother: “The last time I heard from my son I spoke to him on Friday, Friday morning and I spoke to him on Friday at about 2:30 because what happened is I live in Arizona and I sent him some money and he went to the Western Union to collect the money that I sent to him. My son usually sends a text to me, he just says “Mom” or “Hi mom”, “good morning mom” that’s every religious morning that’s the text I get so when I said to him “hi son what’s going on ?” he said “I’m just checking on you to see if you’re okay.” My son was a loving loving son. According to rumors that some young man had threatened him some time ago, I don’t know the guy’s name because they keep everything away from me, my son keeps everything away from me things like that so it’s the rumor that this guy had threatened him to kill him.”
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvette, Bowman was in the company of another person when he was last seen.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of Crimes Investigation Branch: “I know that the family and police have made several searches for him and so far he has not been able to be located. As far as we know he was last seen in the vicinity of the Young Bank Junction on the George Price Highway. That was the last time they were seen, this was sometime around 9:45pm, I believe on Friday night.”
Bowman’s family will be organizing search parties in collaboration with the Police. If you have seen Densmore Bowman or know where he could be located, you can call the family at 639-8359 or contact the police.
