There was no body count in the country and it was, for the most part, a quiet weekend. But based on that last report on Pier One, the violence in Belize is not limited to gangs. Another stabbing incident occurred over the weekend and it occurred on Faber’s Road, inside the State of Emergency zone. The police say it was a physical fight that led a woman to stab her common-law husband.
ASP Alejandro Cowo: “Mr. Randy Quilter 29 year old owner of that address was engaged in a domestic dispute with his common law wife resulting he received two stab wounds to the left side of his back. He is presently admitted at this moment in a stable condition at the KHMH. They were at the residence and appartley the argument ensued between the both of them where he went and he punched the female to the face and as a result she just got hold of a knife that was inside of a cabinet and allegedly stab Mr. Quilter causing him to receive the two injuries to the left side of his back.
Reporter: “Has he indicated to you personally?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo: “Well he was doing surgery this morning so Police is unable to speak to him at this moment.”
Reporter: “Sir if he is charged will there be charges against him for initiating the assault?”
Asp Alejandro Cowo: “Well it is a matter that the Police are investigating. I know the female is determined and she is cooperating with the Police to see how best we can resolve this matter.”
