Wildlife Conservation Efforts Strengthened in Belize through EU Collaboration
Belize is rich and diverse with flora and fauna. Organizations such as the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) work in hopes of saving wildlife and wild places in the world using science, conservation action, and educating people to inspire them to value their environment. WCS is in collaboration with the European Union with a program to spread awareness of nature conversation and knowledge of fire management. Belize has been seeing various signs of forest fires and The European Union (EU) continues to facilitate training with community members like the Vice Chairperson and former Chairlady of Mahogany Heights, Ms. Raquel Vega. She stated that she gained experience and that she is now confident in passing on the members of her area to further excite them in being more involved in loving nature, something Belize is filled with.
