Dean Barrow, a three-term Prime Minister, is expected to hang up his hat next year. It will also mean finding a new leader for the United Democratic Party. The Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber and John Saldivar are contending for the position. Today, the media asked Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wilfred Elrington, who he will throw his support behind.
Hon. Wilfred Elrington, Pickstock Area Representative: “Actually the jury is still out on that I haven’t made any commitment. I am hoping and praying and wishing that I will start hearing from them what they are proposing, how they propose to create employment for our people, how they propose to deal effectively with the crime situation, how they propose to overhaul the education situation. I want to feel that when we move from one leader to the next we are going to be going a higher notch. So the only way one can get that feeling is by hearing what they have to offer. I have not heard any such offer up to this point in time so like you waiting and hoping to hear something to make up my mind.”
