A woman is accused of entering the room of an American retired police officer with the intent to steal. According to American national, Robert Koofman, when he entered his hotel room at La Isla Bonita Yacht Club on Sunday about 5:00 p.m., he was shocked to see 32-year-old Victoria Rufina Alvarez. According to Koopman, he had never seen Alvarez before and did not give her permission to enter his premises. In court today, Alvarez pleaded not guilty to the allegations by stating “I never enter the room”, “I had no reason to”. She was granted bail with conditions in the sum of $3,000 plus one surety of the same amount. Conditions to Alvarez’s bail are that she must not interfere with or be within 100 yards of Koopman, and she is not to go anywhere near the La Isla Bonita Yacht Club. Alvarez met bail and her case was adjourned until March 19. This is not the first crime of dishonesty charge for Alvarez. In 2023 she was charged with theft, for which she is currently out on bail for.
