Women Entrepreneurs Complete First Phase of Business Incubator Programme

A group of women entrepreneurs from across Belize has completed the first phase of a programme aimed at helping female-led businesses grow and become more sustainable.

NIME Belize held the closing ceremony for its “Catalyse Her Potential: Fueling Female Entrepreneurship in Belize” Incubator Programme on Saturday in Belize City. Participants were recognised after completing months of business training and mentorship.  The initiative, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank Lab, provided the women with practical knowledge, guidance and confidence to strengthen their businesses. NIME Belize Founder and President Katia Montenegro Hoare says the programme represents an investment in women and Belize’s economic development.

IDB Lab Country Representative Karla Gomez Carvajal also highlighted the value of supporting women entrepreneurs. She explained that stronger small businesses can improve the lives of families, strengthen communities and contribute to the wider economy.

Graduates received certificates during the ceremony and shared how the programme had influenced their development as business owners.  The incubator is the first phase of the wider “Catalyse Her Potential” project. Organisers say participants will have access to further training, mentorship and opportunities designed to help them expand their businesses./
