World Youth Conference Comes to an End

For the past three and a half days, youths from forty-three countries converged in Belize for the 4th World Youth Conference that was held at the Princess Ramada Hotel. The theme was “Globally running to 2030 being Sustainably Strong”. Today, the youths departed Belize, taking with them, new knowledge and memories.  Love News spoke with Nozibele Qamngana from South Africa about the conference.

Nozibele Qamngana

“The one thing that stood out for me is with debating, one of the sustainable development goals is education not only education but making sure that everyone has access to education and quality education. So one of the things that we were debating is that we need to make sure that our government understands that it is not enough to say that people have a right to education that’s something that is more, in theory, we have to make sure that its practical so when we say that everyone has a right to education we need to make sure that everyone has access to education.”

Many of the youths will return to their countries with a new resolve to make a difference like Ricardo Jara who is from Mexico.

Ricardo Jara

“I am taking with me the commitment, the commitment of implementing the strategies in order for the young people of my country to get to know the commitment of sustainable development and also implement them in their communities.”

This was the first time that the conference was held on this side of the hemisphere.
