April 6, 2020. 10:30 a.m. – The Ministry of Health has continued to scale up testing for COVID-19 and a further 26 samples were tested on Sunday, April 5th. That scaled up testing has identified two further cases, both males residing in San Ignacio.                      📣 Belmopan. April 5, 2020. 8:15 a.m. – Ministry of Health confirms Fifth case of COVID-19 in Belize. The patient arrived in Belize on Friday, April 3rd, and is in self-isolation at a quarantine facility. He is without symptoms and stable.

Youth Awards Gala Comes Together with DYS and Love Foundation

To end the celebrations of Youth Week, the Department of Youth Services along with the Love Foundations have come together, once again to hold the National Youth Awards Gala at the Belize Biltmore Plaza in Belize City. Tonight’s show, which starts at seven o’clock, seeks to recognize the outstanding achievements of several young persons in society as well as their commitment and dedication to their communities and country.  Eric Sanchez, CARICOM Youth Ambassador, spoke about the importance of the award gala.

Tarun Butcher, CARICOM Youth Ambassador, spoke about four special awardees, who will be regionally recognized.

As for the pre-requisites of getting an award, according to Sanchez, there are no special requirements to be nominated for an award.

The awards ceremony starts at 7 tonight at the Belize Biltmore Plaza and will be live on Love Television.
