Youth Services Department Seeks New Director After Resignation Amid Academic Fraud Allegations

The Department of Youth Services (DYS) is without a leader after the organization’s former boss, Kevin Cadle, resigned. Cadle worked with the youth agency for several years, but chose to demit office amid allegations of academic fraud. Since his departure, the DYS has been functioning without a director. Today, we asked Minister of Youth and Sports Rodwell Ferguson for an update on Cadle’s replacement and the rationale behind his sudden departure.

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Transport: “Important ministry to curb young people into the right direction in this country.”

Reporter: Was there a breakdown of the relationship between the ministry and Mr. Cadle or any idea why he resigned?

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Transport: “I don’t believe so. I know it was announced that he had a degree that was not appropriate I understand. And so when he got that letter or some letter to figure how he can respond to that letter, he decided to resign.”

Cadle had been promoted to Director of the Department of Youth Services in December 2021.
