Dr. Luz Longsworth Elected Vice Chair of UB’s Board of Trustees

Dr Luz Longsworth was elected last week as the Vice Chair for the University of Belize’s Board of Trustees.  The election took place at the board’s last meeting on June 13.  Dr. Longsworth holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (Higher Education Management) from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom and is currently the Senior Corporate Director of Sandals Corporate University.  According to the Chairman of UB’s Board of Trustees, Godfrey Smith, Dr. Longsworth’s deep and relevant experience as a former Pro Vice-Chancellor for Global Affairs of the University of the West Indies and a former Principal of UWI’s Open Campus positions her to make a substantial contribution to UB’s development. As for Dr. Longsworth, she looks forward to contributing to the university’s institutional development.  Dr Longsworth’s appointment is for three years.
