Dangriga Area Rep Engages Scholarship Recipients in Educational Success Discussion

Dangriga area representative Dr. Louis Zabaneh, held a meeting today with students from Stann Creek Ecumenical College, who received scholarships from the Ministry of Education. More than sixty scholarship recipients attended the meeting, where discussions were centered on the expectations for the students. Zabaneh says that the scholarships, which are granted to students at all four forms at the Stann Creek Ecumenical, have a total value of over forty thousand dollars. He noted that they form a part of the government’s commitment to increasing access to education for all Belizeans.

Zabaneh added that the scholarships are part of a strategic effort to increase enrollment at the high school level, to go over the traditional fifty-five percent of students who are of age to be in high school.
