Ladyville Man Missing After Mysterious Disappearance from Vista Del Mar Home

Tonight, the family of 36-year-old Mason Patnett is pleading for the public’s assistance in locating him after he did not return to his home in Ladyville. On Sunday, Patnett’s girlfriend, Shenee Moody returned from a trip to Placencia Village and found the front door of their Vista Del Mar home open. Moody checked the house, but Patnett was not there.  She noted that she had spoken to him on the phone the night before but got no indication that he was worried or in trouble.  Moody alerted the police, and the house was canvassed but no leads were found even after reviewing surveillance footage. His family has not been able to reach him and is now in the process of organizing search efforts. His sister, Sasha Patnett, explained that while Patnett had a troubled past, he never mentioned being in danger and wouldn’t be gone so long without reaching out to someone.

Sasha Patnett, Sister of Mason Patnett: “We don’t really know much about the disappearance because it was from his home. When my sister spoke to him in last week and he seemed fine, he was just asking some stuff about the reopening of the banks and stuff like that. We saw him posting on his status as normal up until I believe the Saturday. So you know there was no reason for us to be worried about him and we received information from his girlfriend on Sunday night which is last night that she came to the house and could not find my brother at home and it’s suspicious. So by then we wanted to know has the police been contacted, she said she had already done that. So we were contacted after the police were contacted. We are just trying to gather as much information as we can and if anyone has any information they could just give me a call. At this time our main priority is just trying to get our brother home safely. So any information even if you feel it’s not important, just any information we would be more than happy to take it down so that we can look into it. We are trying to work with the police department to arrange some searches and just trying to stay in the loop when it comes to the investigation so we can know how to move forward. He has issues in the past but as of recently he has not advised us, he hasn’t come to vent to us about….because usually he would tell us about “Oh this one di stress me out.” And he would vent to us but he hasn’t done that lately so we are very surprised. This is completely out of the blue for us at the moment because he’s been very calm recently. We don’t know of anyone currently that he has any issues with.”

If you have any information that may assist the family in locating Patnett, you can contact them at 611-4270. Notably, Patnett is no stranger to the police.  He has been charged with several crimes including drug trafficking, robbery, and attempted murder. In 2012, he and Raheem Crawford were charged with the attempted murder of Marvin Bol. However, in 2018, Patnett was freed of the charge after the crown withdrew the charges. The decision came after his co-accused was murdered in 2014.
