Teen Killed in Santa Elena Motorcycle Crash

The life of minor Denvor Jackson was cut short last night in a fatal road traffic incident at the corner of Loma Luz Boulevard and the Trapiche area of Santa Elena Town. Preliminary reports indicate that Jackson was riding a motorcycle when the accident occurred. Emergency personnel arrived on the scene shortly after receiving the call, but despite their efforts, Jackson was pronounced dead. Love News spoke with Assistant Superintendent of Police, Stacy Smith who explained that urine samples have since been collected from the driver Fernando Funez. 

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “On Sunday, 25th May 2025,  information was received of a road traffic accident at the corner of  Loma Luz Boulevard and the Trapiche Area of Santa Elena Town Cayo District. Upon arrival,  a white in color Lifan motorcycle was observed and some 32 feet away from the motorcycle was a male minor, namely Denver Jackson, who was observed with injuries to the upper part of his body and being treated by paramedics.  Jackson was rushed to the San Ignacio  Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at approximately 6:23 a.m. The scene of the accident was processed and the matter is under investigation. The police have issued a notice of intended prosecution in the matter to Mr. Fernando Funes who is the driver of the cycle. Urine samples have been collected.  We have received information, however,  the information that we have will be disclosed when that becomes necessary to be disclosed.”

This latest incident marks yet another motorcycle-related incident in the area.
