The health of an elderly woman and her family is at risk due to a leak that is coming from a neighboring apartment’s sewage system. Discharge from the sewage pipe has been spilling into their yard for the past two weeks; producing an unbearable stench in their home. Yvonne Vasquez, Gabourel Lane Resident: “The apartment up there all the waste is coming down to the back right by our kitchen there. We can’t even open the door we will smell that stench in here all day all night. All day he is throwing out the waste. I called health and I called health and they will come and up to now four days now and nobody appears. So now well we will see we don’t know what to do. We have the little girl, the baby six years old we had to take her to the doctor yesterday vomiting because the stench that she smells she’s throwing up.”

Reporter: And then you mentioned you can’t even hang your clothes outside ?

Yvonne Vasquez, Gabourel Lane Resident: “Well all the clothes get messed up, I had to throw them away. They have to throw away. The neighbors they are getting affected too. And when we complain about it nobody owns up to it because it’s not one person that lives up there so we don’t know whose sewer is leaking. Maybe it could be the main for there you know ?”

Resident: “We had to take her to the doctor because the baby around the table trying to eat and the smell is coming right through the back door you know ? All in her bedroom the whole house. We try to sanitize the most we can but with this sewer we can’t do anything all we can do is try to seek out for help you understand me ?”
