Boat Captain Shot in Belama Area of Belize City

A boat captain was shot in the back early Monday morning as he took refuge inside his home in the Belama area, Belize City. 39-year-old, Shane Marin, was socializing at his home when he decided to go on his veranda for a cigarette.  Whilst there, he was approached by a lone shooter who concealed his identity using a partial face covering.  Marin was able to run inside the house for refuge, but the persistent shooter followed him and tried to enter the house.  His effort was futile, but did manage to push his hand through an open window where he fired several shots.  Marin was hit in the left side of his back. Both Angel and Roman Matura escaped unhurt.
