Shyne Barrow’s Surprise Meeting: Prime Minister Responds to Unexpected Guest

Yesterday, we told you that members of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association were in Belize meeting with members of parliament. One of those members was Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, who took an interesting guest to his meeting with the CPA. On Wednesday, Barrow and Lord Ashcroft, one of Belize’s largest political donors, met with the four female UK Parliament Members. Barrow had issued a release on his meeting with the CPA, but he never made mention of Ashcroft accompanying him. Today, Prime Minister John Briceno weighed in on Barrow’s decision.  Here’s that response. 

Hon. John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: “Shyne is a gift that keeps giving. Thank you very much.” 

Barrow has reportedly stated that Ashcroft was invited by members of the CPA, but sources indicate that the politician invited the British billionaire to the meeting.
