Mayor Wagner Discusses Migration’s Impact and Opportunities at SIDS Conference

Earlier today in a panel discussion at the 4th SIDS Conference in Antigua, the global issue of migration was on the agenda.  Belize City Mayor Wagner spoke on the subject and linked it with the effects of Belizeans leaving the country and migrants coming in to make a home in Belize.  Notably, his discussion included how the migration issue can be leveraged.

In related news, Mayor Bernard Wagner is calling for further unity and inclusion of migrants who come to Belize.  Mayor Wagner spoke on this issue on the heels of it being a topic of discussion at the SIDS Conference currently underway in Antigua and Barbuda.  He noted that while Belize is experiencing the brain drain phenomenon, we should make efforts in leveraging the loss of skills with the embracing of migrants.

Mayor Wagner is slated to return home later this week.
