Today, the People’s United Party (PUP) vetted the three men hoping to represent Corozal North under the PUP banner in the upcoming general elections. The candidates, David Castillo, Dr. Einstein Bodden, and Ivan Valencia, gathered at the San Andres Community Center as they prepare for the Corozal North convention. The men, all residents of northern Belize, have been accepted by the PUP to vie for the post. Love News was there and spoke to two of the candidates. First, we bring you the comments from candidate Ivan Valencia.
Our newsroom also spoke to David Castillo, who claimed that, unlike the current United Democratic Party’s Area Representative, his team has been working in the community for months.
The convention is scheduled for July 14. The victor will face off against the United Democratic Party’s Hugo Patt in the 2025 elections.
