Final Preparations Underway for Toledo East By-Election Tomorrow

Final Preparations are underway for the bi-election in the Toledo East constituency tomorrow. Contenders from the two major political parties and a third-party candidate will be vying for the seat, which was left vacant following the passing of the late area representative Michael Espat earlier this year. Our news team is on the ground in that division where they will be keeping us posted throughout the day tomorrow.  Prime Minister John Briceno and ranking members within the People’s United Party (PUP) are in Toledo today, in support of the PUP candidate Dr. Osmond Martinez. Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow, is also on the ground along with the United Democratic Party Chairman Michael Peyrefitte, in support of their candidate Dennis Williams. Third Party candidate, il Maheia is also making rounds at this time. We have confirmed that Chief Elections Officer Josephine Tamai is in Toledo at this time, holding final meetings with staff from the Elections and Boundaries Department.
