The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Authority Workers Union (KHMHAWU) has managed to reach an agreement with the hospital’s management and secure insurance packages for its members. President of the union Andrew Baird explained that the agreement comes after three years of lobbying and negotiations, which were started with former chair of the board Dr. Andre Sosa. Baird gave a breakdown of the coverage that is now available to union members.
He noted that while he did not have an exact figure, more than four hundred people are expected to benefit from the insurance package.
Baird added that the negotiations began shortly before the COVID pandemic hit.
