Prime Minister John Briceno also spoke on the recent burglary at the Treasury in Dangriga Town.  To date, Love News understands that there has been no substantial leads for an arrest.

John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize:  “Many instances when you have this kind of crime or burglaries and robberies in any institution or business most of the time it’s because there’s an inside job or somebody from within tell them what’s going on, where you could go and so forth. So I’m appealing to the police to investigate and try to find the perpetrators but at the same time if it is an inside job for us to try who were the people that are giving out this information and when we find them that we deal with them using the justice system.”

Reporter: Are you able to say how much money went missing ?John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize: “I’ve not been informed as yet. I probably I’m thinking that they’re probably trying to find out and ascertain the exact amount.”

The burglary was noted on Monday morning when employees reported for work.  The thieves went as far as removing the electricity meter to disable the surveillance cameras.  The amount stolen from the safe is yet to be disclosed.
