Devon Sankey Remanded for Alleged Gun Threat

Thirty-two-year-old Belize City resident Devon Sankey was remanded to prison today after allegedly threatening someone with a gun. Sankey appeared in court, answering to a single charge of aggravated assault with a deadly instrument. No plea was taken and since the offense was allegedly committed with a firearm, bail could not be granted in the first instance. Sankey was remanded until October 2. Thirty-seven-year-old Reynaldo Reyes reported to police that he was on Curl Thompson Street on Wednesday, when Sankey approached him and pulled the firearm. Fearing for his life he ran off and reported the matter to police.
