Tonight, a two-year-old is without her mother and grandmother after they were gunned down before her very eyes, allegedly by her father in Corozal Town. This morning, 21-year-old Deysha Hill and 46-year-old Natasha Clarke were at home on Second Street North when Hill’s ex-boyfriend, 24-year-old Edwin Marin, showed up. Marin demanded to take the child he shares with Hill but when she refused, he threatened to kill them. He left the house, and thirty minutes later, Marin returned with a firearm and opened fire on both women before fleeing the scene. Love News understands that Clarke died on the spot, while Hill succumbed whilst at the hospital. Shian White, Clark’s brother, spoke to the media late this evening and pleaded with the public to assist in bringing his loved ones’ killer to justice.

Shian White, Relative of Deceased Persons: “My niece’s ex boyfriend who had already threatened to kill her and has a history of domestic violence came earlier in the morning wanted to take their daughter, two year old daughter and my niece refused to let him take the child and then he said he would come back and kill them and at around 10:47 he came back on a motorcycle as a passenger on the motorcycle. I am not 100% sure but they claim the person who was driving the motorcycle is a Corozal Runman at which point he entered the home and proceeded to shoot my sister and my niece killing both of them. So at this point in time what we want is to have the authorities do their best effort to apprehend the suspect, his name is Edwin Marin.”
According to White, her niece had gone to the police on several occasions in an attempt to keep her ex-boyfriend away, but she was not given any assistance. He explained that the family is disappointed with the department and believes the double murder could have been prevented.
Shian White, Relative of Deceased Persons: “You know our police they seem so incompetent. I actually went to the police station and I was so surprised to hear them being victims saying that my cousin who was present when this happened is being aggressive with them. I mean it’s a murder that happened in front of him and I don’t know if they expected roses or what from him. So we have a real problem in Belize with policing. They had enough time to apprehend the suspect and that’s what my cousin was telling them like go the guy is right around the corner, set up a perimeter, you had all these police guys out there they were more worried about securing the crime scene or just standing there instead of just doing what they’re supposed to do. Unofficially I’ve heard also that they were afraid of him because he’s a know killer. So I mean please please if the commissioner is listening or if Mr.Musa is the minister of police please we’re asking you to help us have some justice. Some justice. We know two lives we’ll never get them back but at least we want to get some justice and not be another family in Belize that are mourning their dead with nothing, no consequences for the perpetrators.”
Marin had recently been released from prison. He appears in our news archives as being charged in 2020 for opening fire on a woman in Corozal Town.
