The annual political poll has been released and there are some unexpected results ranging from political popularity to a forecast for the 2025 general elections. It is a poll that has been commissioned by Ashcroft Alliance, using Viking Strategies out of the UK to carry out the polling. This year’s poll was conducted using a mere point-two-four percent of the country’s population, equivalent to 968 persons. Essentially, the polls show that crime remains a major concern for the majority of those who were polled. The majority also believes that the Briceno administration is doing well when it comes to infrastructure and that there is not much worries over corruption. In terms of political popularity, former Minister, John Saldivar who is hoping to make a comeback to electoral politics had a negative score, with him being the least favorite politician. Curiously, the poll listed Eamon Courtenay, Kevin Herrera and Aldo Salazar as politicians who somehow came up as either the ten most favorable or not so favorable. Another interesting reveal in this survey is that of the 968 persons interviewed, only sixty four percent have heard the name, Cordel Hyde, while the other 36 percent say they have never heard the name. In the area of the upcoming general elections, the survey indicates that the PUP have eleven sure seats while the other twenty seats are either likely to go in PUP’s favor, be a toss-up or a safe seat for the UDP. The survey has been conducted every year since 2010, commissioned by Lord Michael Ashcroft.
