Historic Punta Festival in Mexico Draws Thousands; Belize’s Supa G Headlines Event

Musical history was made in Mexico on Friday, with the first-ever Punta Festival in Chetumal. The festival was held at the Parque Quintana Roo and saw over ten thousand people in attendance. Headlining the festival was veteran performer Supa G, who went with a contingent of Belizean artists. He spoke with our newsroom today, explaining that he had dreamed of holding a Punta Fest in Mexico since 2003.

Supa G also said that the event also served to help the other Belizean artists begin to establish themselves within the Mexican market.

Supa G has more tour dates in Mexico, but he and the other artists are preparing for the concert at the Elijo Beni Park in Dangriga on the night of November 18.
