Leader for the Alliance of Democracy, Tracy Panton has issued a release on a UDP letterhead reiterating that she is the interim leader of the UDP. Key in her release is that the court ruling has been misinterpreted by her opposition, who remains regarded as the UDP Leader, Moses Shyne Barrow. Panton noted that the remedy that Barrow had initially sought was the occupation of the UDP Headquarters and that a court declaration remains pending on who is the UDP Leader and whether the October 20 gathering at the Civic Center was a valid leadership convention. She further added that she is not in contempt of the court order as it did not deny her the title of interim leader. She did express hope that the matter would be resolved soon. As we reported last night, Panton had opened a new office in the Mesopotamia division, referred to as the new UDP headquarters. This move comes on the heels of her requesting mediation with Barrow via the courts.
