Galen University Celebrates Largest Graduating Class Ever

Yesterday marked a historic milestone for Galen University, as over 200 students walked across the stage in the 2025 Convocation Exercises, becoming the largest graduating class in the institution’s history. This year’s convocation featured the conferral of degrees across several faculties, including Arts, Science and Technology, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Education. Graduates wore traditional regalia and proudly accepted their diplomas, with many crossing the stage as first-generation university graduates. In his address, Galen President Dr. Rene Villanueva Sr. spoke directly to the graduates emphasizing the importance of building Belize.

A special moment in the ceremony was the presentation of the prestigious President’s Award, which was given to Dr. Sylvia Cattouse in recognition of her longstanding contributions to multiple facets of society within Belize.

Galen University was founded in September 2003.
