Attorney Oscar Selgado Resigns as Chairman of Labour Advisory Board

Embattled attorney Oscar Selgado, has decided to step down from his post as Chairman of the Labour Advisory Board. Today the Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government acknowledged his resignation. CEO of the Ministry, Valentino Shal, wrote back to Selgado acknowledging the receipt of his letter dated October 6 and thanked him for his service during his tenure. Selgado is currently on trial at the High Court of Belize for abetment to commit murder. Selgado is charged for putting a hit out on one Marilyn Barnes, the woman who reported to the General Legal Council that Selgado had sexually assaulted a minor interning at the ombudsman’s office. He is due back in court on Wednesday, October 11.
