Belize Poultry Association Celebrates World Egg Day with Students

Today, the Belize Poultry Association (BPA) marked the 27th annual celebration of World Egg Day with a special exhibition for students in Orange Walk. The BPA treated students of Trinidad Government School to an egg-based breakfast, and shared information with the students on the nutritional value of eggs. Armando Cowo, manager of the association, said that the annual event is geared towards spreading awareness and getting the right information into the hands of Belizeans to help them make healthy decisions.

Cowo added that with the data from the egg producers and estimates from the sales of laying hens, Belize produced roughly over 70 million eggs last year.

World Egg Day was established in 1996 at the International Egg Commission conference held in Vienna, Austria.
