Belizean Man Denies Heinous Crime Allegations in Guatemalan Media

A Belizean man is working to clear his name after a Guatemalan news agency reported that he was arrested for a heinous crime in Melchor de Mencos, Peten, Guatemala. Over the weekend, a Guatemalan media house published an article claiming that a Belizean man named, Ferdinand Waight was detained after he decapitated a man. With an aim to set the record straight, Waight took to social media, denying the reports and allegations.  According to Waight, he was not arrested nor detained in relation to the incident.  Rather, he was apprehended by police for violating a restraining order. Waight added that his name was slandered by the article, and he is not a criminal.  We will keep following this story.
