A Belizean Production Company is attracting global attention after signing an exclusive deal with a US-based director to distribute her upcoming series. Belize Global Media (BGM) announced the deal with director Jasmine Allen to be the sole distributor of her upcoming project Indie Rooftop. The project is a seven-episode docuseries featuring independent recording artists, playing music from a Chicago rooftop before sharing their views on different topics in an interview. Indie Rooftop premiers on August 11. Art Thomas, head of visual production at Belize Global Media, explained that the connection with Allen allows for increased exposure of the Indie Rooftop series and Belize simultaneously. Thomas said that the goal is to work with Allen on future projects that will be filmed in Belize and will feature Belizean artists.
President of BGM, Nigel Miguel, told Love News that two Belizean artists have already been identified to appear on Indie Rooftop Season Two, which will be filmed in Belize. He said that the hope is to begin working on season two of Indie Rooftop either by the end of this year or within the first quarter of 2024. Jasmine Allen is the Executive Producer of Perfect10 Pictures. She is credited as the director of the 2011 short film Ubuntu and the 2014 short film Imagine.
