On Friday, Love News reported of a disturbing video of a police officer entering a house of a civilian, holding a firearm. The video shows the officer standing in close proximity to a child inside the house. But when we asked, Police Commissioner Chester Williams about it, he disputed the facts of the video.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “Is this a video where I saw the police officer had a big gun? I looked at the news clip or the news comment and certainly, the news outlet which I believe is Love FM is misleading and I think to some extent was done with a view to tarnish the police department’s reputation because it says that the police officer entered the house with a big gun while the child was inside playing. Any person who had looked at the video it showed that the officer only went by the door, the child was inside, the officer did not enter the house any at all just went by the door and he walked back outside but yet the news outlet, my favorite Love FM were able to say that the officer entered the house put this big gun while the child was in there playing. We need to be accurate when we were report and report things for what they are. In respect to the complaint that the lady had made that matter is currently with Professional Standards Branch and they are looking at that matter.”
Again, the police officer is videoed inside the house- in close proximity to the child who was watching cartoons.
