Dangriga Man Wins $166,000 Mega Bingo Jackpot

A Dangriga man has won the Mega Bingo Jackpot, just two weeks after the game’s last winner. Today, the latest winner went to claim his prize- a hundred and sixty-six thousand dollars, in Belize City. The winner, who chose to withhold his identity, says he bought the ticket from a store in Dangriga with the last bit of money he had. He says he has plans for the money, including finishing his home.

Winner: “How I ended up wit this winning ticket?  I went to the store, I went to buy something for me to eat so I bough that. So basically I bought, usually when I play Mega Bingo I buy three tickets. So when I had bought the stuff for me to eat I only had two dollars left in my pocket, my last two dollars. So that is what I used. I said you know what let me buy the ticket and done, out of this last two dollars here. So I ended up buying the ticket out of the law two dollars I had in my pocket and that was the luck right there. How I  found out I won because the night I bought the ticket I never played the game until I woke up in the morning so I reviewed, I went on Facebook and did the usual, went on the Mega Bingo then I started to play the game in the morning. So I was playing the game and when I listened when they were calling out the numbers. So now I reached and circled the majority of the numbers on my ticket so I said only one number left now. So when the lady said 47 I jumped up I couldn’t believe it. I even held my heart and said “What I can’t believe I won.” I looked at it again and reviewed it and said I can’t believe I win. Even up to today I’m here doing this interview and I still can’t believe I won but I have to believe it. Thank God. It’s a miracle because basically I’ve been buying this for over a year and change now and I’m just now winning. Like they say if you want to win the game you have to be in it to win it you know ?”

Reporter: So now that you’ve won it. Do you have any plans for it ?
Winner:“Well basically yes I want to finish my house and stuff like that. I have good plan

The jackpot now reverts to a hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
