Delivery Truck Driver Robbed

A delivery truck driver was robbed at gunpoint of over twenty-five thousand dollars in cash and cheques this morning in rural Belize. 36-year-old Jaime Sanchez told police that the incident occurred around 8 o’clock this morning when he was about to enter the delivery truck belonging to his employer. Sanchez was reportedly near mile 16.5 on the George Price Highway in Hattieville Village when he felt a cold object in his back and noticed two masked men armed with firearms behind him. The thieves ordered Sanchez to hand over the money and proceeded to rob him of a black bag that contained around 25,000 thousand dollars in cash and cheques. The robbers also stole Sanchez’s cell phone, before making good their escape in the direction of Hattieville Village. Police are seeking two residents of the village in connection with this incident.
